Welcome, dear guest

Opening up messenger application this morning, I saw my friend appeared on in his status, saying “Welcome Mr. Bush”. That’s nice, that’s civilized, that’s the good way to receive a guest.

Jose Maurinho of Chelsea FC said, “Football is football and people talk about different kind of football,” and I will bring about a way we are welcoming a guest, although people will talk about different kind of guest. Hugo Chavez of Venezuela (as a child I read that women from his country bit their couples when they reached orgasm) considered that Bush is similar to Satan, some Indonesian distinguished politicians regarded Bush as number one imperialist, and chairman of one of militant group in Indonesia liken him of satan, terrorist, and imperialist, thus worthless guest. However, our beloved SBY and his men, welcome him respectfully. He is a head of state, after all, mention SBY’s spokeperson.

Some groups take the same side with against welcome of Bush, and the rest (I can not say minority, I read only one group welcoming him openly, but this group’s reasoning is very logical that I believe many people share similar consideration and “afraid” of saying “welcome Mr. Bush”) feel it is okay to receive him.

I say, let people express their feeling. Let the “against Bush group” demonstrate their sentiment. Let them show their emotion so Mr. Bush will see our different faces and needs. On the other hand, let other group to welcome him warmly. Let them talk with him about everything, coolly, about his war against terrorism, about his lost in senate and congress.

I laughed my hearts out when listening to a live radio broadcast this morning. After exchange of salam and courteous wishes, the reported questioned a chairman of “powerful pressure group” about his demonstration against Bush’s arrival. He took it that the reporter did not respect his different way of expressing his thought. He asked for respect of diversity and he quoted Holy Verse saying that diversity is a blessing.

Do you remember that there was a guy who asked his follower to close up, forcefully, restaurants and night amusement that open during Ramadhan, his people tried to disperse a symposium and conference on gay and lesbianism, his mass organization assembled people to throw stones and expelled Playboy magazine office out of Jakarta. What a way to respect differences…. God, Allah the almighty, please show your love to this wretched man.

Tips and tricks

In earlier posting I wrote about tricks, ones that I would share and perform by the virtue of airwave, by that I meant magic show in radio station. Well, to keep my "magical spirit" up I will, again, share something that relates to tricks. This is simple thing but yet very significant. It's about how to make your children sleep.

It is simple thing, as everybody knows that children, whether THEY want it or not, whether WE want them to or not, will eventually sleep at night, so there shouldn't be much problem. Significant, because our presence besides them is important. It may make them (feel) safe, it makes us calm (to be sure that our children is soundly sleeping), in short, it makes everyone happy. Well, I believe it's kind of rule of thumb.

So, why talking about things that is as certain as babies wetting their pants? Because.
Making my children sleep is not a piece of cake for, well, rookies. It requires patience, it needs extra time, it needs mental and physical fitness. See? It's not that simple. There are specific ritual that one needs to endure before my children kiss their days off:
- One, having milk (one glass for each, with or maybe without cut/uncut straw)
- Two, brushing their tiny teeth (a glass of water with respective toothbrush on top, never mixed them up or they will talk about your "carelesness" whole night before they close their eyes, and a possibility of hearing about the incident weeks later)
- Three, story telling (previously they wanted one story for each girl every night, after days of prolonged negotiations we settled for one story only for one night and they decides who picks the story)
- Four, one sip of water before lying down (each one, sometimes it happens after WE lie down, so I have to get up and fetch the water, I managed to make my effort simpler by installing small rack to the bed)
- Five, praying (such angels, no fuss in this part)
- Six till fade (scratching some backs, or limbs, caused by mosquitos' bites)

Even writing about it makes me tired....
What do you think? Complicated? not so. Try to do that when you feel dead sleepy, THEN you will start to value the word "rest".

So far I just have to get away with 3 daughters, let's wait for 2 years and we'll hear about our renewed rituals after Baby Amira joins her daughters. Let's pray for my ever present patience, health, and time....

imagine

You might all have heard this piece of art “Imagine”. I have and I, so far, had been appreciating it as a mellow song, concerning about humanity and issues surrounding it, written by someone called John Lennon, that was all. Yet, again, a combination of audio and video melt my heart and fat tissue under my eyes. And “Imagine” is more than just a song, it’s a road leads me to inner heart.

Listening to “Imagine” and looking at picture of foggy-rocked beach somewhere in Northern Europe, children with fishing rod under the sun starred by Jesus statue from afar, mystically beautiful Grand Canyon, bats flying over cliffs and many other more than mere beautiful pictures taken full-heartedly by National Geographic team makes me tremble inside.

We, people, are so small; we are nothing compared to the beauty and grandiose of nature. Even a picture of tiny dragonfly hovering and humming its lacy wings is enough to draw my jaw down.

What a journey, what an eventful journey to my heart, thanks sis.

Today's Show

My mind never stops asking myself. What I would do next, what I will be next, where will I end up, how would I finish it, am I happy, what am I gonna do, etc. etc. In fact, the inquiries make me raise from bed every morning, do my rituals, and end my day, rather too routinely.

Talking about what I would be doing, I am dreaming of hosting my own show. Hence, I think about my talent: cooking? Naah, survival food consist mainly of my-own-way-of-cooking doesn't sell; how about Do-it-yourself thing? Well, living with the same roof with in laws who take responsibility and complete almost all domestic problems hinder my skill to sharpened; well.. what then, what then?

Finally, in the mid of my study in Padjadjaran University Bandung, I found an original idea. It was not that my time there was so plentiful that I came up with bright ideas. My Bandung period was so full to think more about life. Indeed it was so full that I need more than 6 years to graduate. Not funny, wipe those smiles off your faces!

Where was I, oh, the idea. Here it is: A magic show!
Yep, I am a born again magician. You can ask me to do anything and I will deliver. Really, just send sms or call me during my show, it will be interactive show.
For example, your message would be like this: Kiki, can you please move that teaspoon out ouf your cup and put it outside? And I will do exactly that!
I will call the show, "All things is possible, impossibility is impossible".

One thing, though, the show will not be aired on TV, only radio stations. So, dear future listeners, I'll see you next time on the same day, same time, same station.

Radio was new, radio, someone still loves you....!
